Mowing aquatic vegetation is a seasonal job with a small operating window. When it comes to clearing unwanted vegetation from bathing lakes and leisure facilities, every hour counts. Because all bodies of water are expected to be in perfect condition for the summer and especially for the summer holidays.
It is therefore not uncommon for machine operators to be required to work overtime or in two shifts during these peak periods.
The challenge
Water plants grow particularly quickly and frequently in regions with high levels of sunlight and the associated heat. This means that the drivers of mowing boats and aquatic weed harvester are often exposed to the sun. Not only does the sun shine from above, but it also reflects off the surface of the water. This is a double burden for the drivers. There are the short-term risks of dehydration and acute sunburn. But long-term damage from skin cancer is also a danger.
Our mowing collection boats are often used on large lake areas where there is no protection from trees or vegetation close to the shore.
This exposure to heat and long working hours has a direct impact on the health, work performance and safety of employees. And as a result, there are also increased risks for bystanders around the water. Reduced cognitive abilities and fatigue of the driver pose a serious risk for others.
The Solution
Our Triton 1500 and Triton 550 Amphi aquatic weed harvesters have always been equipped with a cabin and air conditioning with cooling and heating function as standard.
This function is now also available for our smallest collecting boat, the Triton 550.
A cabin to protect against sun and rain has long been available for this model. Thanks to the help of our partner I.M.A. H.-D. Gröschler GmbH, we have also been able to install a rooftop air conditioning system from dirna Bergstrom. This system is perfectly compatible with the electrical systems of the Kubota engines installed in our boats.
This two-part air conditioning system ensures pleasant cooling of the cab and thus a comfortable and safe workplace for the driver.
